As of July 14th PacifiCare stoped accepting applications for individual PPO plans
in Colorado. This is due to the buyout of PacifiCare by United Healthcare in 2005.
They will continue to offer group benefit plans in Colorado and we will be happy
to assist you with any quotes or information you need.
The PacifiCare health plans are great if a copay type plan is what you have
in mind. In Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs areas they have the best
rates of anyone on a $500 deductible copay plan. That is, if comparing
benefits apples to apples.
The plan changes a little when you move to a $1,000 deductible, ie a little
higher copay for doctor visits and a $100 deductible on the Rx card. If you
aren't taking any prescription drugs then it's probably not a concern and
the rates are hard to beat.
You'll find the most providers in the Boulder, Denver, Colorado Springs
and Pueblo areas, but PHS can also work well in other areas of Colorado.
